2009 Scholarship Recipients

Grant Application: 

Greens Market Awards:

  1. HomeGrown Festival — $500

    Funding: Continue as a sponsor for the 2009 HomeGrown Festival in fall 2009.

  2. U of M Biological Station Graduate Student Support — $1,500

    Funding: Financial support for a graduate student to attend the UM Biological Station in summer 2009. 

  3.  Growing Hope Center - $1,000

    Funding:  Contribution toward the cost of a 1,700 gallon cistern and associated hardware to capture rainwater.

  4. School of Natural Resources & Environment Scholarship — $1,500

    Funding: Annual AA Branch scholarship to an SNRE Student for 2009.  This award has been given for the past 17 years.

  5. Starr Commonwealth Children’s Annual Vegetable Garden — $1,000

    Funding: Through their science classes the boy's vegetable garden is planted and maintained by 12-18 year-old boys working in groups of 12.

  6. MI DIV Summer Student Intern Endowment Fund - $1,300

            Funding:  To take place at Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum


Total Greens Market 2009 Awards — $7,000

Horticultural Therapy Allowance to Ann Arbor Branch of Woman's Farm and Garden Club — $200

 

Garden Walk Award — June 2009

The Agrarian Adventure - Funding for greenhouse improvements, outdoor vegetable washing and prep station, compost system, outdoor classroom teaching tools, resource training and lending library, edible school orchard (fruit trees), asparagus and rhubarb beds and more.
