Garden Walk Nomination

Is your backyard a blooming beauty in June? Do you have a friend with a garden of delights? Perhaps you’ve only been able to peek at a garden you’ve passed by, and wished for a chance to explore it. Share it with us as a possible future Ann Arbor Garden Walk(tm) location!

Gardens come in all styles, sizes, and themes, and there are no hard and fast rules for the gardens we select. Whether created by the homeowner’s hands, a professional landscaper, or in many cases, a combination of both, we look at a number of criteria, such as: 

• the selection of flowers, shrubs, and trees
• the use of stone and other hardscaping
• waterfalls, ponds, and fountains
• unique cultivars and the use of native plants
• creative touches of art

Does the garden’s design answer a particular challenge, such as privacy from a busy street or successfully blending wooded and cultivated areas? Are there special collections of a particular plant? Is there adequate parking nearby? All of these considerations and more go into the selection process.

So lend us a hand, and tell us about a great garden! We're also looking for gardens for one-day mini Garden Walks in the spring and fall. If you know of one that bursts with springtime beauty or colors the coming of autumn, tell us!
