"What's All the Buzz About?"
Thursday, Sept. 11, Ann Arbor City Club

We're kicking off the new 2025 - 26 Farm & Garden season with an inspiring program on BEES!
Speakers:
Jen Roedel, Ph.D. candidate, Michigan State University Dept. of Entomology and Ecology, Evolution and Behavior
Karma Thomas, pollinator ecologist and research assistant, MSU Dept. of Entomology
You’ll be planning a pollinator garden by the time these two bee enthusiasts finish their presentation. Jen and Karma will share photos and information about different pollinators—bees, butterflies and moths—and the native plants that support them. You’ll also hear about the Bee Urban Growers (BUG) Project that Jen founded to work with urban farmers and gardeners to manage native bees by installing pollinator habitat. The project also includes the creation of publicly available educational resources.
Lunch menu: Green salad, fresh fruit, soup, rolls, grilled chicken breast and sautéed salmon.
Members, please register for lunch ($20) and the program, or program only, by midnight, Sept. 4th. Doors open Sept. 11 at 11:30 am; lunch is at noon; the presentation begins at 1 pm.
